About
How do you design software that people can trust?

I'm Aarthi Hatter, and I think about how people use and trust the systems, devices and tools they rely on every day.
Whether it's connecting to Wi-Fi, syncing a phone, managing an identity, or working with AI, people aren't trying to use software. They're trying to accomplish something. Software should help them do that and get out of the way.
People trust software when it behaves predictably and helps them accomplish what they came to do.
Great experiences rarely start with the UI. The UI reflects the system beneath it. If the architecture, workflows, permissions, or data model don't make sense, neither will the experience. That's why I'm drawn to problems that sit between product strategy, system design, and UX. You can't separate them and build great software.
AI raises the stakes. As software begins to reason and act on our behalf, we need to know what it's doing, when to trust it and when to step in.
That's what I write about here.
